The Moms to be store is moving!!  Just signed the lease yesterday to move into the Dawson Mall (rather than the Dawson Co-op Mall).  Much larger space and I will be able to stock all those lovely 4 in 1 cribs, high chairs, etc etc.  As well as a greater selection of the larger size children clothing. The opening date in the new location is July 1 but we will still be open in the current location right though to the 28th of June.  Fortunately we have access to the space for painting and fixturing 6 weeks ahead - even so, there are many many pieces of inventory which have to move. 

And -this requires a drum roll - I will also be leasing a cash register which will be able to scan the items for sale. Instead of my current method of hand-writing a sales invoice and working out the 2 taxes on the adding machine.  It feels a tad pretentious to go this extra step but it will save a ton of inventory page maintenance.  (At least, that is the theory - hopefully it works in actual read-life).

I have been attempting to connect my twitter account to this website, but, so far, all I have done is waste a whole lot of time. Twitter is @momstobe1.  Eventually I will get it to work - right?

Lots of activity here at the store.  Now stocking the Bright Starts infant and toddler equipment. They make a rocking or stationery reclining infant\toddler chair which is very smooth in operation and light enough to easily move about the house (or deck, now that spring might be here). As the name states, everything is done in bright colours.

The Bounce A-Bout infant entertainment centre comes in bright "neutral" colours as well as a very fierce bright pink (actually called the "Pretty in Pink" grouping.)  Beautiful products with lots of motion, bounce and 360 degree turns.

And the newest arrival is the Baby Einstein Musical Motion Activity Jumper. Fabulous item - almost makes me wish I could fit in it!!   And, of course, I will continue to stock the Jolly Jumper with the portable A-frame support - a tried and true item.

Nifty new products.  The BA is a very soft round "ball" which will hold a babies bottle.  Go to their website www.theoriginalbaby.com select Products and watch the video.  Very wonderful music and it shows the bottle holder being used (and abused).  Comes in 3 colours and is super cute and practical.   The OBall is a product which I have carried before but now they have added a "ball" with large wooden beads.  Very colourful and interesting to little hands.  www.rhinotoys.com

The etc item is a shopping cart, high chair cover.  I have had one brand of this product in my store for a long time but that company does very utilitarian covers.  This new company had very bright colours and lots of padding - and snap together holders to keep the cover on the cart and the child in the cover. I have rearranged the store to accomodate the Sunshine Kids car seats.  Actually the company name is now Diono but the seats are still of the same high quality and still go from 5 to 45 lbs rear facing; 22 to 65 lbs. forward facing; 50 to 120 lbs booster.  www.diono.com  And they fit 3 across the back seat of most vehicles.   Also still stocking the Mico Maxi Cosi infant car seat!! 

I have been sold out of this lovely little product for a while, but they are back.  A washable breast pad made from bamboo rayon and it is heart shaped!!   The shape is appropriate to the importance of the job and also ensures that the pad lies flat on the breast without needing to be folded.  That and the wonderful fabric make it very comfortable.  Bamboo rayon will not stick to your sore (or not) nipples and the fabric is not cold when wet.  They come in packages of 2 pairs of regulars  or 2 pairs of regular and one pair of overnites.  The overnites are much heavier so they can  catch and hold more leaks (assuming you are at the happy state of sleeping through the night. ) These moms also created a warm\cool therapy pillow for use to ease the pain and discomfort of engorgement and nipple chafing and mastitis.  The outer cover is this same lovely soft fabric and can be heated or cooled, as needed. Therapy pillow is called "bamboob-ease"
